いずれか早い日 “whichever comes earlier.”

ある会社の現在事項証明書に

「当社の取締役の地位を喪失した日の翌日から起算して１年が経過した日から、同じく５年を経過する日または平成３０年３月３１日のいずれか早い日までの間に・・・」

という規定が記載されていました。

その英訳として、

“--- from the date after one year from the following date on which he/she ceases to be a director of the Company until the last date of the five-year period commencing therefrom, or until March 31, 2018, whichever comes earlier.” としましたが、

from, fromと続く点、“commencing therefrom”の言い方が不満です。
